Contemporary components and materials in implant dentistry

Evidence-based success has resulted in increasing utilization of dental implants in the treatment of all forms of edentulism. With this success, we are often faced with advances in technology, materials and techniques that promise to provide increased productivity while improving clinical outcomes.  This presentation will focus on the contemporary component and material options we have available to restore implants ranging from functional needs to esthetic demands in both the partially and completely edentulous patient population.

Learning objectives:

  • Describe the abutment design alternatives for fixed solutions in the partially or completely edentulous patient.
  • Become familiar with dental materials utilized to maximize strength vs. esthetics or a combination of both.
  • Become familiar with pros and cons in dental materials utilized in the full-arch reconstruction.
