Arriving in Italy

The Italian authorities recommend to always consult https://infocovid.viaggiaresicuri.it/returningtoitaly.html prior to the trip to Italy.

All passengers entering Italy from abroad are required to fill in the European Digital Passenger Locator Form (dPLF) https://app.euplf.eu/#/ before departure. Information provided in the PLFs can be used by public health authorities in destination countries to rapidly contact travelers with the goal of protecting the health of travelers’ and their contacts as well as preventing further disease spread.

Certification for a), b) or c) is required:

a)       Covid-19 vaccination with a vaccine recognized by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) – either full vaccination or additional booster. Vaccination certificate issued for the primary vaccination series is valid for 270 days.

b)      certificate confirming recovery from Covid-19, valid for 180 days, accompanied by a translation into Italian or English;

c)       PCR test to be carried out in the 72 hours prior to entry into Italy,
lateral flow test to be carried out in the 48 hours prior to entry into Italy;

All travelers must present at least one of the above certificate or will be required to go into quarantine at the address indicated in the PLF, and also take a PCR or lateral flow test with a negative result at the end of the quarantine.

In Italy

Super Green Pass

Until March 31, a super green pass is required to access hotels, restaurant and the congress venue.

As of April 1 the super green pass is only required to access the congress venue while the hotels and restaurants are accepting a green pass.

The green pass includes a negative PCR test while the super green pass refers to full vaccination!

The “Super Green Pass” is generally requested to access public places and attend public events. Certificates showing only a PCR or lateral flow test without a QR code are not always accepted and, for example, entry to a restaurant can be refused.

Travelers from non-EU countries (excluding the list of 35 countries whose COVID certificates are accepted in the EU: https://reopen.europa.eu/en – scroll all the way down) should contact the Italian Embassy in their country to get up-to-date information.

Facemask

Wearing a FFP2 facemask is required in all in indoor public places in Italy, such as bars, restaurants, museums and public transport, as well as in crowded areas outdoors.

The following persons are not required to wear masks:

• children under 6;
• people with disabilities and their carers if the mask makes communication between them impossible.
