Description:

The focus of implant dentistry has evolved from not just the replacement of missing teeth, but the restoring of function and aesthetic as well as the long-term biological maintenance of peri-implant tissue health. Peri-implant disease is a recognizable issue and has recently been included in the new classification of periodontal disease. This workshop will cover the scientific principle of air polishing technology as well as the concept of Guided Biofilm Therapy. Participants will be able to apply actively, in a practical setting, the principles of Guided Biofilm Therapy in implant maintenance as well as the management of peri-implantitis.

  • Understand the aetiology and pathogenesis of peri-implantitis
  • Understand the scientific background of EMS airflow® technology
  • Recognize and differentiate the various air polishing powders and their application
  • Apply the concept of Guided Biofilm Therapy in implant maintenance
