Dr. Alvin Yeo is currently working as a Consultant Periodontist (with special interest in Esthetic Periodontics and Implant Dentistry) at the SmileInc® Dental Clinic. He also assumes the positions of a Visiting Consultant and a Visiting Clinician Researcher in the Restorative Department (Periodontics Unit) at the National Dental Centre, Singapore (NDCS).
He graduated in Periodontics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA in 2003 with a Certificate in Periodontics and a Masters of Science (MS) degree in Oral Biology. He received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from the National University of Singapore in 1997. He was conferred Fellow in the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (FAMS) in 2007. He was awarded a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Groningen, Netherlands after successfully defending his PhD thesis in March 2010 entitled “Novel Polycaprolactone-Tricalcium Phosphate (PCL-TCP) Scaffolds Customized for Reconstruction of Dentoalveolar Deformities.”
Dr Yeo has been extremely active and is part of the recently established ITI SEA Section Leadership Team formed in 2011.  He currently assumes the role of Chairperson the ITI South East Asia (SEA) Section and was the ITI SEA Section Founding Member & Education Delegate from 2011-2015. Dr Yeo teaches part-time and is part of the teaching faculty of the NUS Periodontology Residency Training Programme at NDCS. In addition, he is currently a member of the Dental Specialist Accreditation Board (DSAB) in Periodontics. He lectures and conducts workshops actively both locally and internationally, such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Nepal, China, Australia and the United States, on topics of related to Periodontology and Implant Dentistry.
