Dragana Rakasevic graduated from the Faculty of Dental Medicine, University of Belgrade, Serbia, in 2011. In September 2017, she earned a PhD with “Evaluation of the efficiency of photodynamic therapy in the treatment of peri-implantitis’’. She specialized in the field of periodontology and oral medicine at the Faculty of Dental Medicine, University of Belgrade in July 2018, where she also participated in teaching and training students.

Currently, she works as a Research Assistant on science-research projects for the Ministry of Science, Education, and Technology (# 41008: Interaction etiopathogenetic mechanisms of periodontitis and periimplantitis with systemic diseases of today).

She is a member of the International Team for Implantology (ITI), Periodontology Association of Serbia, European Federation of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration (AO), European Association for Osseointegration (EAO), and the Women Implantology Network, WIN.

She is the author and co-author of several national and international research papers, presentations in scientific meetings, such as the short oral and poster presentation at Europerio 9 and 8, AO and EAO congresses, Serbian symposium of Oral Surgeons and Implantologists, Congress of BASS.

Dr. Rakasevic has two research projects; one is examining a new dermal collagen matrix and its use in gingival recession therapy (since 2014), while another is evaluating the efficiency of the application of photodynamic therapy in the surgical treatment of peri-implantitis.
