Yong-Dae Kwon is a professor and chairman for the department of oral and maxillofacial surgery at Kyung Hee University School of Dentistry, Seoul, Korea. He received DMD in Kyung Hee University in 1996 and completed OMFS residency in 2000. He served in ROK Navy as a naval officer and became an ITI scholar at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany (2005~2006). After his scholarship period, he became a full-time faculty member at School of Dentistry, Kyung Hee University. Prof. Kwon teaches dentofacial deformities, basic dental implant surgery, and bone graft for dental students at the university.


From 2011 to 2016, he was a member of University Programs Committee and Scholarship Committee. He was a visiting scholar at School of Medicine, Stanford University, CA, USA (2012~2013). Since 2006, he has been an ITI scholar and was a first study club coordinator of ITI Korean Section and now is serving as an Education delegate of the section.


 He is currently an associate editor of Maxillofacial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and also published many basic and clinical research papers on dental implants and bone regeneration. His research topics are bone regeneration, material sciences, and jaw deformities.


He gives lectures and hands-on courses on the topics related to implant dentistry and bone regeneration in Korea and other countries.
