Irena Sailer is Chair of the Division of Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials, University of Geneva, Switzerland. She is also Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences, Robert Schattner Center, University of Pennsylvania, USA. In 2019, she was awarded an Honorary Professorship from the University of Aarhus, Denmark. Irena Sailer graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tübingen, Germany.

Irena Sailer sits on the Board of Directors of the Swiss Society of Reconstructive Dentistry and the European Association of Osseointegration and is a Leadership Team member of the ITI Section Switzerland. Irena Sailer serves on the Scientific Boards of the EAO and the Swiss Society of Implantology. She is Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Prosthodontics and (co-)author of numerous publications.
