Koldsland is associate professor at the Department of Periodontology, Institute of Clinical Dentistry, Dental Faculty, University of Oslo. Specialist in periodontology (2012) and a Ph.D. regarding biological complications in implant therapy (2010). Lecturing and clinical instructor for the bachelor-, master-, specialist- and Ph.D.-programmes at the University of Oslo. Research focus is clinical research in the field of treatment of peri-implant diseases.

Koldsland is vice-president in Scandinavian Society of Periodontology and board member in Institute of Clinical Dentistry, Dental Faculty, UiO. Awarded the Norwegian Dental Association Research and Educational prize 2011.
